Meet your 2026 Board of Directors!
Name: Nicole Hudson
Vice President, Berkley Area Chamber of Commerce
What do you love most about Berkley?
Berkley feels like a small town tucked inside a big metro. People know each other. Business owners show up for each other. You can walk down 12 Mile and run into three people you know, then meet someone new at the next coffee shop. That mix of familiarity and fresh energy is what keeps me rooted here.
What do you love most about owning or working at a business in or around Berkley?
Running a growth strategy, marketing and creative production agency in this community means my clients are often my neighbors. I get to do work that actually shows up in the place I live, for the people I share a zip code with. There's a real generosity in this business community too. Owners want each other to win, and that shows up in referrals, collaborations, and the way people pull each other into rooms they didn't know existed.
When you're not working and spending time with your family and friends, what activities bring you joy?
We love to grab an ice cream at Clarks, take a class at Have You Any Wool, spend time at our swim club, Beverly Hills Athletic Club, bounce around the local parks and festivals, and head up north or to the airport to destinations unknown as much as possible.
What is your hype song?
Brave by Sara Bareilles
What's your go-to dish when you eat out in Berkley/Oak Park?
Charcuterie at the Rind
Small Pepproni Pizza at Green Lantern or Crispelli's
Burrata with Blistered Peppers or Hometown Picnic Wings at Amici's
Beef Brisket and Mac Cheese at Slows
Italian Grill or the Cheesy Caprese at The Lunch Cafe
Burger or Chicken Schnitzel at the Oak Parker
If you had $1,000 to donate to a charity, which one would you give it to and why are they awesome?
Community and Home Supports. They are awesome as they help address homelessness and poverty in Detroit. The donations are used to help the homeless households we service pay for vital documentation (I.D., social security card, birth certificate, etc.); rental application fees, move-in costs, furniture, bus tickets, clothing, school supplies, and many other household necessities to assist our clientele with the transition from homelessness to housing.
What do you love most about the Chamber?
The members. Every conversation reminds me why this work matters. People are pouring everything into their businesses, and the Chamber is one of the few places that can actually move the needle for them through visibility, connection, and a community that knows their name. We're not perfect, but we're listening, and we're building something that will serve this region for a long time.
"I love getting to build the things that weren't there before. Whether that's a smarter membership pipeline, a better Level Up follow-up sequence, or sponsorship structures that actually work for our members, this board lets me roll up my sleeves and put my marketing background to use for the community I live in. The other board members care deeply, ask good questions, and aren't afraid to evolve what we're doing. That's rare."
