What do you love most about Berkley?

Although our kids graduated years ago, we are still humbled by and grateful to the amazing teachers and staff of Berkley Public schools. From elementary through high school we encountered so many passionate and caring educators that we still look for ways to give back.

What inspired you to start your business?

We have lived in Berkley for almost 25 years and have been in hospitality for even longer. On a whim we looked for restaurants for sale in Berkley and discovered Amici’s newly on the market. After a series of serendipitous events, we were able take the reigns of one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Incredible!!!

When you’re not working, what do you do that brings you joy?

Morning coffee together, family dinners with our kids, and getaways in our camper.

What other Berkley business(es) would you like to give a shout out to and why?

Jimmy’s Country Oven! This unassuming gem has incredible food and great service, but what we appreciate most is the authentic hospitality of Jimmy, Lisa, and the entire staff!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation without a doubt! We love to travel, but it can be difficult to find the time get away.

If there was a movie about you, who would play you?

Brad and Angelina, of course!

What music, artists, books, shows, movies, or activities are you into right now?

We loved Ted Lasso! I remain a huge Jerry Garcia fan and love riding my motorcycle to work.

What is your favorite food?

Can’t choose. Here’s three in no particular order… Great bread, a giant ribeye, and ice cream.
